About me

Five years spent at Virginia Tech in the College of Architecture + Design, and the most important lesson I have learned is that my education will not stop after graduation. My curiosity and love for learning began in studio where I discovered that education doesn’t have to look like it did when I was in high school. Growing up in a small town in Connecticut, my world was small, but who would have thought that going to school in the even smaller town of Blacksburg, Virginia would make my world seem limitless? The values of the faculty at VaTech expanded my world into something much bigger and greater. I got to test this out by spending spring break in Hong Kong; a semester in Switzerland and traveling Europe; and a semester in Old Town, Alexandria exploring Washington D.C.; these opportunities--opportunities to learn in different places, in different cultures, with different people--have shaped the way I communicate, design, and see the world.

Studio culture has been crucial to my education as an architect since the beginning. It is where my colleagues and I discuss our work, collaborate and share ideas, explore new methods, and feed our curiosities. The cover photos that scroll on the main page are film photos I took in studio, partially for me to look back on and remember why I love this field so much, and partially to show to others how important an open studio is. Overflowing with resources; not just material, but the ability to bump into a professor on the elevator and have a more meaningful conversation in two minutes than some might get in an hour-long lecture. The spontaneity of the space offers something that traditional work spaces will never achieve.

My love for simple and clean design is a culmination of all of these experiences, and it is something that I hope is prominent in my work! If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to me via email or instagram :)
